All throught out hte world there is a lot of wine being produced and distributed. People use wines in all sorts of ways whether it is for drinking or adding something extra to cooking there are wine lovers throughout the world. Certain countries are clearly able to produce better wine than others, enjoyed by more people worldwide. Perhaps the best known countries for wine are those from european countries. They have some very old techniques that they still use today to produce wine. France consumes more wine than any other country but who can blame then when their wine has such a good reputation. Germany produces a lot of white wine and this is beacuse the climate is not hot enough to grow red grapes but Italy is the worlds biggest producer of wine. Vineyards are also a common sight in many South American countries where Argentina and Chile are the biggest producers. Spanish settlers were the one to bring vineyard to Chile in the 1500s. Some people have accused the South American wines of not being as fruity as some of the other wines.
California is the best known wine producing state in the United States but there are other like New York that also produce a lot of wine. New Zealand, South Africa and Australia are also renowned for their wines. These particular countries are now well respected for their wine quality. When you first get into wine tasting it is best to start with a local variety and then just start tasting some others to see which ones you like.
