The Beauty Of Kegerators – The Haier HBF05EAVS

So what exactly is a ‘kegerator’ anyway?

Well, you may know the trusty kegerator by a different name instead, such as a keg cooler or even keg refrigerator. In essence though, their function is twofold: number one, it serves beer directly from the keg. And secondly it needs to keep that beer nice and cold. A great example of an effective and modern kegerator is the Haier hbf05eavs.

(So as you can probably guess from the above, the term ‘kegerator’ was actually borne from two separate words: the words ‘keg’ and ‘refrigerator’).

A major advantage of using kegerators is that they keep beer tasting great for much longer than other methods. After a keg has been connected to a keg refrigerator, the beer will usually still taste great as much as 2 months later.

So, what does a kegerator look like these days?

Well, aside from having a refrigerator in which to house the keg and keep it cool, most ready-made kegerators include a tank of carbon dioxide (to dispense the beer), a beer and air line, and a dispenser on top of the device through which to pour the beer.

Nowadays, systems such as the Haier hbf05eavs also incorporate an automatic defrosting function and adjustable thermostat too. As a result, it’s quick and easy to get the beer to the desired serving temperature.

While most kegerator parts will stay the same from country to country, there is one that changes – it’s called a “coupler”. These very often change depending on whether the beer you’re serving is sourced from America, the UK, Germany, or elsewhere in Europe.

Fortunately, when buying a keg refrigerator inside of the USA (or wherever you live worldwide), the kegerator will normally already have the correct coupler for where you’re situated. (You’ll normally get a US Sankey ‘System D’ coupler when buying a Haier keg cooler inside of the USA, and this is what you need for delivering American beers).

At the end of the day, you can get hold of kegerators for both commercial and home use, and they serve as a highly practical and efficient way to store and serve beer.
